Cape Mentelle was established in 1970 and was one of the first wineries in the Margaret River, Western Australia. Cape Mentelle pioneered many of the region’s renowned wine styles. Creating the winery’s tradition of pioneering spirit and steadfast commitment to excellence, an innovative young team is taking up the challenge to be simply the best. Robert Mann, grandson of the great winemaker and innovator Jack Mann, has been the Senior Winemaker at Cape Mentelle since 2005. The maritime influence of the Indian Ocean ensures even temperatures providing consistently good conditions for producing very high quality grapes and some of Australia’s finest wines.

Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is delicate yet full, the palate is distinctively lemon, snow pea, pawpaw, lime with subtle star anise, restrained tropical fruit notes, lemongrass and clove. Luxuriance and weight are balanced with fresh acidity, giving direction and finesse. The versatile blend is typically made into crisp, dry wines, but it is also the blend of choice for the world's most prestigious sweet wine style, Sauternes. The blend is endowed with vibrant acidity and grassy aromas by Sauvignon Blanc and its structure and mouthfeel from Semillon. The palate is bright, elegant, well balanced with a creamy texture and a long finish.
