Released just once a year, Four Pillars Navy Strength Gin is a high-strength gin from Australia's Yarra Valley. Made with organic oranges, finger limes, turmeric, coriander and star anise, this is a fragrant gin with notes of spice, lime, pine needles and vanilla.
The finger limes highlight the Asian spices like coriander and star anise, and are complemented by the fresh ginger. Then turmeric adds weight to the palate and a fresh but earthy quality, not unlike dill.
The resulting gin has lifted aromatics of lime curd, pine needles, and fragrant spices with a vanilla character which pulls it all together. The palate is intense - sweet and juicy - but it is still very clean.
Navy Strength Gin was awarded Best Gin at the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition 2016, and has four times been awarded Master status at the Global Gin Masters (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018).
HISTORY:
A small Australian distillery established in 2013 in the Yarra Valley with a focus on gin, but the founders soon recognized that the real focus would need to be on the craft of distilling.
The founders: Cameron Mackenzie, Stu Gregor, and Matt Jones wanted to elevate this area of expertise in Australia, and bring a modern Australian sensibility to the process.
Two years later, they have more than five different gins, multiple gold medals from international spirits competition, and now a brand new distillery operation and tasting bar.
The distillery’s purpose is to elevate the craft of gin distilling in Australia, celebrate the craft of cocktails, and create a modern Australian brand.
