Les Fumées Blanches Sauvignon Blanc is a single-variety Sauvignon Blanc white wine made by Domaines François Lurton under the Vignoble du Sud-Ouest label, in Gascogne, France.

Les Fumées Blanches Sauvignon Blanc is made with clusters that come from plots aged between 10 and 20 years, with clay-calcareous and silt loam soils that are harvested mechanically and early in the morning to slow down the oxidation process. When they reach the winery, the grapes are either macerated with skins for 8 to 10 hours or cold stored for a few days to preserve the variety’s aromas and flavors. They are pressed and fermented with selected yeasts and under controlled temperatures. The resulting wine is aged with its lees for several months, depending on the vintage, before being bottled and sold.

François Lurton was born in the Bordeaux region of Entre-deux-Mers and has always had a soft spot for the Sauvignon Blanc grape. At Domaines François Lurton they spend every year in continuous search of careful processes that will restore the aromatic palette of this variety so that it is expressed as fully as possible in the wines. They have also begun using organic agriculture to try and achieve the variety’s most natural expression. They are intervening in the process less and less and making their work more environmentally friendly.
