One of a series of bitters from a relatively new company in Seattle Washington (although truth be told anyone other than Fee, Angostura, Underberg and Peychauds - all in business for over 100 years - is a relative newcomer). Founded by Thomas Miles of Tavern Law a couple years ago after making homemade bitters at the bar because of the lack of any decent commercial bitters (much like a few other small bitters companies).
Give your cocktails a bit of hellacious heat with a dash or two of Scrappy’s Firewater Tincture.
Cocktail bitters are spirits infused with flavors, typically from plants, fruits, or spices. They date as far back as the early 1800's, originally used to assist with digestion and cure stomach aches. Infusing your cocktail recipes with just a few drops of bitters will give them an additional level of flavor depth. Many bitters are also renowned for their ability to cure hangovers.
This bottle of concentrated chili pepper heat packs a big punch for mixing up spicy cocktails. And each batch is handcrafted in Seattle by the experts at Scrappy’s, so you can rest assured it is made with only the finest natural ingredients.
Featuring the intense flavor of habaneros along with delicate floral notes and subtle sweetness, Scrappy’s Firewater lets you add clean heat to any food or drink recipe.
Firewater works well in savory cocktails like the Bloody Mary and in tequila and mescal cocktails. It is the perfect ingredient for a spicy Bloody Mary or spicy margarita recipe. Just be sure to handle it with care and use sparingly. This bitters recipe lives up to it's firewater namesake.
