DESCRIPTION

Produced by the same team and from the same vineyards as Château Palmer, Alter Ego is literally the 'other side' of Palmer, another expression of Palmer. Alter Ego has the distinction and character of Palmer but is made to be drunk much earlier. Merlot is generally the dominant grape variety, making it supple and ready to open within 3 years of the harvest. A great wine with intense fruit, fresh and juicy.

Tasting Notes:

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, Alter Ego de Palmer is very deep purple-black in color and gives up exuberant crushed red currants, red cherries, black plums and mulberries with touches of forest floor, garrigue and lavender plus a waft of dark chocolate. The Taste is medium-bodied with a good core of plummy fruit and very soft, plush tannins, sparked by just enough freshness, Finishing fruity.

Food Pairing

Food Pairing:

Chateau Palmer is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The cool, almost cellar temperature gives the wine more freshness and lift.
Chateau Margaux is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes.
Chateau Palmer is also good when matched with Asian dishes, rich fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.
