Glengoyne - Teapot Dram Batch 007 | Single Malt Scotch Whisky

NOSE:
Huge spicy sherry bomb on the nose. A burst of raisins, sultanas, morello cherries, plums and raspberries. A distinct spice from the European Oak gives this a peppery warmth. Hazelnuts and baked marzipan. Very dark chocolate and cocoa notes. Buttered toffee. A light touch of candied orange and red apples as well. Deep, dark leather and tobacco notes, leaving a drying sensation on the nose. Loads of cinnamon, cloves and ginger. A touch of cooling peppermint or eucalyptus. A slight minerality and some solventy astringency add to it as well.

TASTE:
Oily and thick on the palate. Again big sherried rum raisins with dried fruits and hazelnuts. Treacle toffee. Christmas cake and Turkish delight. Some burnt caramel. Loads of dark chocolate and cocoa. Orange marmalade. Muscovado sugar and cinnamon notes along with a punch of black pepper and ginger spice. Again that peppermint is present. Dark notes of tobacco and leather.

FINISH:
A long finish with loads of warming spice on the back of the palate. More marzipan and Christmas cake. All that pepper and ginger eventually calm into bitter dark chocolate orange notes along with the even more dried fruit.
