DESCRIPTION

With this single-vineyard Sangiovese, the Mazzei family pursues the goal of producing the best wine of the Chianti Classico appellation. Seven different clones of Sangiovese, four of which are the result of 50 years of research, form the basis of a Gran Selezione which is produced up to 350 meters above sea level in the single vineyard Il Caggio, not far from Castellina (and only in the best years).

COLOR:
Brilliant and sparkling ruby red.

NOSE:
Expressive and inviting on the nose, on fresh wild strawberries, blood oranges, as well as fine floral hints, reverberation of ripe red peach, noble, barely perceptible use of wood.

TASTE:
Extremely polished and elegant on the palate, it ranges over a large juicy arc, many layers, gentle and persistent pressure, fine saltiness on the finish with a long finish.
