Chateau Bellefont Belcier can be enjoyed early. However, the wine is often better with at least a few years of bottle age. Of course, that can vary slightly, depending on the vintage.

Chateau Bellefont Belcier is usually best enjoyed in the first 10-20 years after the vintage when it is at full maturity. Young vintages can be decanted for 1-2 hours. This allows the wine to soften and open its perfume. Older vintages might need very little decanting, just enough to remove the sediment.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes:

The nose is elegant, quite aromatic and concentrated. It reveals notes of black fruit associated with a few notes of licorice, raspberry, as well as slight touches of cigar box. The palate is fresh, fleshy, complex and deep. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy fruits, plum and strawberry associated with a few notes of crunchy strawberry and blackberry. Tannins are fine, slightly dry and grainy. Good length.

Chateau Bellefont Belcier is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The cool, almost cellar temperature gives the wine more freshness and lift. Chateau Bellefont Belcier is best served with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes.

Chateau Bellefont Belcier is a perfect match with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta as well as cheese.
