DESCRIPTION

Gran Familia Cabernet Sauvignon is the company's prestige wine. It has twice been named Chile's best premium wine in the Guida Vinos de Chile. The grapes are taken from a vineyard in the Maipodalen where the cabernet vines are 40 years old. The soil is lean and well-drained, with lots of gravel and sand. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. A very careful selection is made before it is time for de-stemming and crushing. Then the fermentation starts with the help of the natural yeast in small tanks. After fermentation, a maceration takes place with the skins for another week. The wine is then left for 18 months in French (Seguin Moreau) oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:

The wine has a deep, very dark red color. Great complex aroma with lots of fruit and concentration. Notes of violet, ripe fruit cedar and a toasted note are there. Very rich, concentrated and flavorful. Rough and fresh with hints of dark berries cedar and roasted coffee. Balanced long aftertaste.
