DESCRIPTION

Vigneron Pierre de Benoist thinks the Cloux vineyard is arguably the best parcel for Pinot Noir in Rully. He likens the exuberance, purity, and elegant tannins of the reds that emerge from Cloux to those of Gevrey-Chambertin. This bottling, evoking red berries and blackcurrants, is gorgeous now and will evolve beautifully over the next 10-15 years.

Tasting Notes:

An expressive and ultra-floral nose of poached plum and earth is trimmed in hints of oak and wood toast. The supple, vibrant and rich yet nicely delineated bigger-bodied flavors flash touches of youthful austere and rusticity though less than that of the Champs Cloux on the noticeably firmer finale.
