Mills Reef - Reserve - Cabernet & Merlot | New Zealand Red Wine

This classic red is a superior blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. The grapes were sourced exclusively from our Mere Road vineyards, within the highly regarded Gimblett Gravels region of Hawkes Bay. Despite a challenging season, we were able to harvest the fruit in optimum condition - the Merlot on 11th April and the Cabernet Sauvignon on 26th April, at an average of 22.4 brix.
This rich and luscious wine exudes intense blackcurrant and brambly blackberry flavours, with spicy, aniseed notes. Twelve months ageing in quality seasoned oak confers a silky smooth texture, giving immediate appeal, or for judicious cellaring to reward over the medium term.
