Description

The Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2012 is one of the most legendary Japanese single malts, renowned for its deep, rich, and complex sherry influence. Crafted by Suntory’s Yamazaki Distillery, this limited-edition release was matured exclusively in carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks, imparting intense dried fruit, spice, and dark chocolate notes.

This bottling gained worldwide fame when its successor, the 2013 edition, was named “World Whisky of the Year” by Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2015. As a result, the 2012 edition has become highly sought-after by collectors and whisky enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Rich dried fruits, raisins, figs, dark chocolate, and espresso, with hints of oak and warm spice.

TASTE:
Full-bodied and luxurious, featuring layers of sherried sweetness, black cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg, and toasted almonds.

FINISH:
Exceptionally long, with lingering notes of cocoa, oak spice, and a velvety smoothness.
